Canton of Zurich

The City of Zurich
The City of Zurich offers loans to persons studying (after one first contacts the Canton) to assist with living costs. Further information and counselling is provided by Laufbahnzentrum der Stadt Zürich, Stipendienberatung (in German only).
www.studienaktie.org is specialized in offering investor based loans to persons studying in Switzerland. The financial return of the investor is based upon your projected or actual salary upon completing the program.
Migros Bank offers private credit (max. 80,000 CHF) in the form of a loan to Swiss citizens as well as foreign residents with at least the residence permit “B” and who have lived at least one year in Switzerland. You must also be employed with an unlimited contract. You have to prove that you can pay back the loan within three years of them granting it to you and have up to five years to do so. With 5.9% interest, they have the lowest rate of all banks in Switzerland if you complete the application online (in German, French and Italian).
Other foundations and scholarships in Switzerland
The Sino-Swiss Exchange offers grants and scholarships to European and Chinese citizens pursuing a Master’s degree. Eligible are persons who have a Bachelor’s degree from a leading university in China or Switzerland, have been accepted to a program and have an interest in Swiss and Chinese cultures and languages.
MBA for Women Foundation
The MBA for Women Foundation provides scholarships and low interest loans to women that have been accepted to an MBA program and demonstrate a need for financial support independent of nationality and country of residence. Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research)
As a result of the BAföG (Bundesausbilungsförderungsgesetz) the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research offers financial assistance to legal residents of Germany (also applicable for studies outside the country).
Festo Bildungsfonds is an education fund that offers loans (max. 40,000 EUR) for persons pursuing continuing education who have an engineering or technical background. Interest is set at 4%.
CareerConcept offers educational financing thru educational funds with interest rates varying between 5 and 7%. Repayment is set as a percentage of your income upon completing studies.

The Swiss Benevolent Societies of Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco offer scholarships to Swiss citizens and their direct descendents living in the U.S. who wish to study in Switzerland.
